My Philosophy

My philosophy

Peak performance is about tapping into the infinite potential that exists inside of you. This is a unique journey for each and every person. There is no one-size-fits-all process because you have specific skills, capabilities, life experiences, and tendencies that ultimately are your superpower just waiting to be unleashed. That is why everything that I do is centered around helping people come back to the knowledge that exists inside of them. Nobody knows what's best for you better than you do. You have an innate knowing that is embedded in your DNA. An effective teacher is not someone who merely gives you answers, rather it is someone that helps you to strengthen the muscles of self-trust, discernment, and inner wisdom.

Embodying peak performance relies on understanding your bio-individuality and bringing a deep level of awareness to the following core tenants which I implement in the "Positive Performance Method":

  • Belief - You must believe that change is possible. You must believe in yourself. You must believe in the process. This is the foundation of your transformation.

  • Awareness - Awareness is your greatest superpower. Before you can change anything you must become hyper-aware in all of the aspects of your life. Your decisions, triggers, emotions, reactions, nutrition, relationships, and the list goes on...

  • Discipline - To master your life you must master yourself. Discipline is not a punishment, rather it is the highest form of self-love. It is forgoing the immediate pleasures for long-term gains and wins.

  • Balanced Routine - We are creatures of habit, it is how our brain is wired. Our habits are either propelling us toward our future or holding us to our past. When we can take control of our routines we begin to more deeply shape our destiny.

  • Deep "Why" - To maintain an unstoppable resilience to never give up we must connect our mission to our why. Why do you want to do what you're going to do? When the why is big enough then the how will always present itself.

  • Radical Accountability - To achieve the highest levels you must take full ownership of every action, response, and situation in your life. A victim mindset will only keep you spinning your tires, accountability will set you free.

  • Intentional Nutrition - What you consume plays a massive role in how you are able to show up in the world. With so much misinformation around nutrition and health being spread it is imperative to understand how the food you are consuming is affecting all of the areas of your life and body.

  • Inner Circle - Whom you surround yourself with is a crucial component of your process. Your peers can either be a weight holding you back or a launchpad elevating you forward. This is a process to be done with discernment, not judgment, taking an honest look for the people who help you grow and become the best version of yourself.

When you can bring a daily conscious effort of these core tenants into your life then there is absolutely no limit to what you can achieve. Implementing the latest information that we have regarding habit-forming and human behavior through the fields of neuroscience, neuro-linguistic programming, internal family systems, biology, and psychology, you can fully integrate all of these concepts. It is truly a cheat code for life! You have the ability "bio-hack" your body's natural processes to more effectively work for you, through natural practices and remedies that are continually being backed by the most recent science and research.

To be most effective, this journey must be a holistic approach. I know this is a bit of a buzzword these days but it simply means looking at all of the aspects of the human experience. It means looking at your environment, your job, your relationships, your diet, and your passions to paint a full picture of how they all weave together to ultimately make up your experience of life. When you begin to connect those dots and understand the full scope of these aspects, you then gain full control over your existence. You more deeply understand yourself, the experiences you're having, and the emotions you're feeling. From this level of awareness, you can begin to truly experience the full richness of the human experience and operate from a place of maximum potential.

About Me

The Positive Veteran

Joe Walters

USMC Veteran

I have such a deep passion for the work that I do because I have been through the process firsthand. I had to find the inner strength in life when parts of me didn't want to be here anymore. I had to find a reason to keep moving forward when it felt easier to cope with substances and vices. I am just a regular person who had to overcome my own set of personal challenges on my journey. It took a lot of inner work and the support of some powerful plant medicines to get to where I am at today.

Through this work, I realized that it is through the struggle that forges the person we are meant to become. I learned that these experiences weren't meant to break me, rather they were meant to build me. Once I saw the power of alchemizing my pain I just knew it was my purpose to help others do the same. There is so much I know now that I wish I knew then. I would have benefited so greatly from more information, resources, and a supportive mentor earlier on in my journey.

That is what drives me to wake up and do what I do every day. I have a burning desire to help others and make a difference in this world, one person at a time. It is our birthright to become the most empowered, powerful version of ourselves. We are not given a blueprint for this process, certainly not in school. But we can all learn from one another, support one another, and create massive change on this planet from the inside out. To change the world we must change ourselves, the rest will become a ripple effect of that process.

I put in countless hours and dedicated my life to more deeply understanding myself and what peak performance means for me. Now it is my honor to share the insights, reflections, and honest feedback that will allow others to do the same. I am so deeply grateful to be doing this work today and am honored to walk beside each person as they get to discover their definition of peak performance and continue to realize their next level of potential.
